Welcome to the Northampton Teacher Training Partnership (NTTP) website.
NTTP is a School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) provider based in Northamptonshire. We have been training teachers for over 15 years. Our lead school is Northampton School for Boys - a DfE designated Teaching School.
Teaching is a rewarding and exciting career with each day different to the last. A School-Centred Initial Teacher Training Course provides you with an alternative way of training where you are immersed in the school environment for the majority of your time whilst training.
For the academic year 2016-2017, we will be offering a one-year, full-time, secondary (11-16, with post 16 in second placement) with a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / PostGraduate Certificate Education (60 credits at Masters Level) validated by Edge Hill University.
We are constantly looking for enthusiastic people to train in one of the most rewarding professions in the subjects of: Biology, Chemistry, Dance, Design Technology, English, Geography, History, Mathematics, Modern Foreign Languages, Music, Physical Education, Physics and Religious Education.
You will spend 33 weeks within the Partnership, 24 of which are based in schools learning the craft of teaching and classroom management.
We are seeking to recruit potential teachers who can offer a commitment to teaching and are interested in working with young people in Northamptonshire within education, or those who are thinking of a career change. We expect applicants to have gained some recent experience in secondary school within their area of interest.
We encourage applications from all spheres of the community regardless of age, race, disability, religion and gender (see our Equal Opportunities Policy).
All of our Partnership schools are state secondary schools (11-18) and have gone through rigorous procedures to join our partnership. All of our partnership schools have ex-trainees as members of staff. Many are good or outstanding schools as graded by Ofsted. All the schools within the partnership provide the trainee with the opportunity to work with pupils who have a full range of ability and needs. The School Based Tutors within each partnership school use their wealth of experience to guide trainees through all the variances of this demanding, but rewarding profession.
All trainees who successfully achieved both awards in recent years gained employment (the vast majority in Partnership Schools) and very few have left the profession.
Please take a look around our website, and why not come along to one of our “Get into Teaching Days” to find out more about our courses. If you have any queries, please contact us.
